It is now illegal to operate without a licence in any of the following roles: Security, Cash & Valuables in Transit, Public Space Surveillance CCTV or Close Protection. You will need to obtain a licence from the Security Industry Authority (SIA).

The SIA is an independent organisation established by the government under the terms of the Private Security Act 2001.

The SIA is responsible for raising the standard of professionalism and the quality of service throughout the security industry. The new licensing requirements carry the force of law and will help prevent unsuitable or poorly trained people from operating within the private security industry.

Adult Basic Life Support

Over 270,000 people suffer a heart attack every year in the U.K. Unfortunately 30% will not make it to hospital alive. Administering CPR to a casualty who has stopped breathing can greatly increase their chance of survival.
